FAQs
How do I choose the right size for my space?
For Low Ceilings:
If you have low ceilings or plan to walk underneath the light, consider the Wool Hoop 40 or 60. Be sure to allow some cord length above the light for visual appeal.
For Larger Spaces:
If your space has lots of height, we recommend choosing a larger light rather than a smaller one. The Wool Hoop 60L is perfect for larger spaces with high ceilings.
For Bedrooms:
The Wool Hoop 40 or 60 makes an excellent main light, while the Wool Hoop 15 is perfect for creating a cosy reading nook beside the bed.
For above a Dining Table:
For tables seating 2-4, the Wool Hoop 40 is ideal. For larger dining arrangements of 4-8+, consider the Wool Hoop 60/60L or a cluster of Wool Hoop 25’s.
For a Nook or Corner:
The Wool Hoop 25 is perfect for brightening up any dull corner and turning it into a focal point.
For a Large Stairwell:
Make a sculptural statement with multiple lights of different sizes. For a statement look, the 40, 25, and 60/60L work really well together. A cluster of three Wool Hoops 25 works beautifully.
For Above a Bar:
Try the Wool Hoop 15 in a linear arrangement of 3 or 4, or in a cluster of 3.
How Do I Clean the Wool Hoop?
To clean the Wool Hoop, simply unclip the hoop and give it a gentle hand wash with wool detergent—kind of like how you’d wash a delicate baby blanket or your favourite hand-knitted sweater. For more detailed care instructions, see here.
Do you ship to other countries?
We currently ship to New Zealand and throughout Australia, International delivery is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please email us for options if you live outside of Australasia.
How Do I Choose a Bulb/Lamp?
We recommend selecting a bulb that complements the shape and design of the pendant light for the best effect.
For the WH15: A medium-length tube light fits the proportions beautifully.
For the WH25: A long, thin tube highlights the delicate form of the pendant.
For the WH40: A 95mm globe bulb works harmoniously, maintaining the clean, balanced look.
For the WH60 and WH60L: A larger 125mm round bulb ensures the light fills the space without competing with the design.
We prefer classic bulbs that incorporate the latest LED technology, offering the aesthetic of vintage bulbs while eliminating the drawbacks of traditional incandescent lighting. Our lights are designed to create ambiance and a soft glow in a room, so we recommend 8W Warm Matt White frosted LED bulbs, with a brightness of 350-800 lumens and a colour temperature of 2700K for soft, ambient light (lower temperatures for warmth, higher for more focused light).

What About UV and Wool?
Wool is an incredibly resilient fibre—just look at the sheep that wear it, enduring all sorts of conditions in the direct sun. However, like all natural materials, wool can be affected by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Just as your linen curtains might fade over time, intense UV rays can gradually cause wool to lose its vibrancy and strength, especially in areas with strong sun exposure. A little bit of sunlight is great for refreshing and revitalising your Wool Hoop, but to keep it looking its best, we recommend avoiding placing your fixture in areas of direct or intense sunlight. Protecting your wool piece from prolonged UV exposure helps preserve its integrity and ensures it continues to age beautifully, just like any well-loved, natural material.
Any other Colours other than black for the Cord and Electrical Hardware?
Right now, we only offer black for the cord and hardware since we’re still early in the process. However, we’re gathering feedback for our next production run. If you have a specific project in mind, let’s chat, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do to make it work
Won’t the natural white colour get dirty?
The natural off-white colour of wool is surprisingly resilient, thanks to its lanolin coating, which naturally repels dirt. Unlike cotton or linen, which can absorb stains, wool offers better stain resistance. If it does pick up a mark, a gentle hand wash with wool detergent will have it looking fresh and beautiful again in no time.
What Is the Expected Lead Time for Delivery?

How Do I Install My Light Fixture?
Installation should be done by a registered electrician. Clear instructions are included in the packaging to guide them through the process.
Are Lof Lights Fire safe?
Absolutely! Wool is naturally fire retardant up to 570-600 degrees Celsius, and we use only UL-certified electrical components that have been independently tested for safety. Wool is actually much safer than many other lightshade materials on the market, and we've done all the necessary safety testing, so you can have peace of mind that our lights are safe for your space.
